Got Jacob his own tee ball stuff...He LOVES hitting the ball in the back yard!

Zachary came to visit from Texas this week! The boys had fun playing together, and Jacob got to play tee ball.

Took Jacob to the park to play and fly his kite. When it was time to go, we reminded him not to put his fingers in his mouth until he washed his hands, because there are lots of germs at the park. Jacob replied, "And if I did put my hands in my mouth, my white blood cells would do their job!"

"Jesus isn't the only one who teaches people to do right...I do AND Jesus does!"

"There are 5 things to do on the boat; shoot cannons, eat lunch, drive the boat, check things, and put down the anchor."

Nate: Turn around and sit down when you eat please. Do you know why I want you to turn around and sit down when you eat?
Jacob: "So food doesn't get in my trachea. That is where air goes."

First heartbreak:
The preschool aid told me that about a week or so ago, Jacob and another classmate, Nicole, were smiling, putting their arms around each other's shoulders, saying I love you, etc, pretending to be boyfriend/girlfriend. Holding hands, they skipped over to the other side of the room. A few minutes later, the aid heard Nicole yell, "I don't love you anymore!", and she walked away. Jacob was just crushed, fell to his knees, ready to cry. The aid tried to console him, and even got Nicole to admit that she still loves Jacob, but only as a friend. Things were fine the rest of the day, until it was time for Nicole to leave. Jacob asked if he could go tell her goodbye, and ran excitedly to the doorway. When he came back he was all slumped over, and sad again...apparently, Nicole did not respond as Jacob had hoped.

Happy 4th Birthday Jacob!!

Nate and I both took the day off today. We went to the bakery and had donuts for breakfast before preschool. Jacob said he wanted a tree for his birthday, so we got a Ficus tree that is a little taller than Jacob, with a braded trunk. Jacob helped pick out a pot and plant it, and he is pretty excited about getting to keep a tree in his room. Grandma and Grandpa June, and Kristen and Jerett came over for cake and ice cream. We let Jacob cut the cake. He said his favorite part of the day was "taking the meat out of the crab legs at Red Lobster".

Jacob has been talking a lot about April Fool's Day lately, mostly because it is an easy point to measure how many more days until his birthday. This morning he talked about it all the way to Grandmas. He knows that it is a day to play nice tricks on people, and that we do not hurt anyone or break rules to play April Fool's Day tricks.
