Last Sunday, the Sunday School lesson was Jesus healing the blind man. I was making chocolate pudding for my Sunday School class, and Jacob asked what I was doing. I told him that the Sunday School story was going to be about mud!!!! Jacob said, "Oh I know a story about mud...Jesus put some mud on a man's eyes so he could see, because he couldn't see!" Surprised, I asked him where he learned that story, and he said preschool. He was disappointed that my class got to paint with chocolate pudding, but his class did a different project, so tonight we painted with chocolate pudding. As the evening went on, Jacob liked painting more an more on himself instead of just the paper! We had a lot of fun!

Nate and I both went over to Grandma's house to pick Jacob up after work. We asked him to clean up his toys, and Jacob was taking his own sweet time. Finally, Nate suggested that Jacob put the garbage truck along the wall. Jacob replied, "That's a parking place for people with wheelchairs. See the handicap signs?" Everywhere we suggested was imaginary handicapped parking.

Tonight we took Jacob out on the lake for the first time, so he could see what it was like to walk on the frozen lake. He had a good time following a snow mobile track on the lake.

This morning we learned even more about volcanos...We made one in the kitchen with baking soda and vinegar! He also asked us to come see the volcano in his room!(See videos)

Nate told Jacob that the moon looked red because of the reflection of the volcanic ash from Central America. Tonight we learned about volcanos and where Central America is, and Jacob got to see what volcanic ash feels like. Jacob was very concerned concerned about what happend to the Mountain Lions when a volcano errupted, and if they got their feet burned. He even asked Jesus to please take care of the mountain lions feet in his prayer at bedtime. Jacob doesn't like much pop because "it stings my tongue", but tonight we learned that Jacob likes Country Time Lemonade because it isn't carbonated (see video).

Jacob loved seeing the lunar eclips with Nate's telescope. He can tell you the basic idea of how the moon is hidden from the sun by the Earth's shadow.

Playing in the closet

Playing Grocery store in the living room this morning. Pantry items were spread out across the couch for me to choose from. I came to the check out, and Jacob was the cashier. I asked him how much my groceries cost:
"Just give me all your money, and your wallet, and that will be enough!"

Jacob fell asleep watching the Daytona 500 today. When he woke up, he said he had a good dream about car racing:
"Only kids were driving. I was the M&M car, and I won!"

Tonight we had a tattoo party after dinner with Jacob's left over Valentine tattoos. He had a fun time picking out which tattoo went where. When we were done, he stood in front of the mirror in his underwear, admiring his 9 new tattoos on his arms, legs, stomach, and forehead. We talked about the difference between a temporary tattoo and a permanent one.

Celebrated Valentines Day at the MOA. Jacob and I even wore our PJ pants there. It was nice not having any agenda, and letting Jacob lead the way, and go on some rides. A salesman gave him 2 helium balloons, and Jacob walked through the halls carrying a balloon in each hand. Several times throughout the night, we encouraged Jacob to share one of his balloons with another toddler, but he didn't want to. Finally, as we were leaving, we saw a couple with a little boy that looked about a year old. The boy was so excited to see Jacob's balloons, and without hesitation, Jacob said, "Awww...here you go!", and gave the little boy one of his balloons...then he realized what he had done, and started to cry as we left. We praised him for sharing, and doing what Jesus wanted him to do.

What is love?:
"It's something that comes from your heart when you love someone...Now do you know what it is?"

How do you love someone, or know that someone loves you?:
"You tell them I love you, like when you say 'Te amo Peanut Butter', that means 'I love you Jacob'...I love you Mommy...Now I said I love you...Just like that...Now do you know what love is?"

Jacob came home from Grandma's house, wearing different pants. I assumed he spilled lunch on them, or had an accident, so I asked Jacob, "What happened to your pants?":
"Ummmm...bleach takes out color!...Did you know that Mommy?"

Had fun tonight having Jacob play photographer!

Jacob loves playing "Cole and Grace playing a concert" lately. I get to wear my hair in pigtails, and I'm Grace, and Jacob gets to be Cole. Jacob sets up a little stage with some stools, and his lantern. "Cole" plays the recorder, and "Grace" plays the saxaphone, and we dance on the step stools! Sometimes "Baby Ben" comes in and laughs at us jamming out at our concert!

Jacob decided to roll himself up in a blanket and color in the living room tonight.

Quotes from Jacob the past few weeks:
Jacob and I were in the car. When we turned down our street, I asked him if he remembered his address, and he recited it correctly. Then I asked him if he knew his phone number, and he said, "Yep...911"

"When I am at school and you are at work, Fellow is not scared because he has Jesus, and he knows we're coming home again!"

Bedtime prayer tonight:
"Dear God,
Thank you for giving us everything we need.
Thank you for Harvey (his new train).
And thank you for sending you as a baby.
Amen"

"Ya know what I wish...I wish I could be a Daddy like you"

Jacob took Nate's extra blanket off the bed to take a nap with:
"This blanket is so cozy!...ya know why? Because Daddy's been sleeping in it for 100 years and his body made it warm and cozy!"

Saw a truck with a Doritos add on the side of it. I asked Jacob if he know what was in the truck:
"Chips!...see it says it right there with those black letters...ch-i-p-s! (sounded out the word chips!)

Jacob noticed the symbol on a drink from Caribou Coffee:
"Do deer drink coffee?"

Gave Jacob a few choices to pick from at McDonalds. He decided he wanted to try a fish sandwhich:
"Will it have its eyes on it?"

Jacob was having a freeze pop for snack:
Mmm, I like these!...I bet there will be popsicles in Heaven!"

The other day, Jacob did something that really impressed me, and I told him, "Jacob, you WOW me!" He asked me what that meant, and I told him that he did something really great that surprised me. Tonight Jacob was playing with Nate, and Jacob told him, "Daddy, you WOW me. Do you know what that means?...That means you get a sticker!" (relating it to when he was getting stickers for good behavior at preschool).

Jacob asked Nate where the goldfish goes potty. Nate explained that he just goes in the water, and it sinks to the bottom until we change the water. Jacob looked at the fish, and then he asked Nate where the fish's penis was!

"What will happen to the fish if there is a tornado? I don't want the fish to die. Ohhh, it's okay little fish!"
