Tonight we went to the Science Museum with Kristen and Jerett. Jacob saw his first 3D movie there! During the movie, there were little blue balls "floating toward you", and Jacob suddenly leaned forward, lifted his glasses a few times to compare what he was seeing with and without his glasses, and started reaching to grab the balls in the air. Very cute to see him experience 3D for the first time, and a fun evening with Kristen and Jerett!

Our latest project has been painting the kitchen. Jacob had fun tearing off wall paper, pretending to paint primer, and...painting with real paint! A little with his brush, and a little with his hands! Over all, he really did a good job.

While I was downstairs doing laundry, I heard Jacob playing upstairs in the kitchen. A few minutes later he called down, "Dinner's ready...I cooked a picnic for us tonight!" I came upstairs, and found a baby blanket spread out on the kitchen floor. Lined up on the blanket was a cucumber, 3 apples, 2 oranges, a cantalope, 3 peaches, a box of ready to bake bisquits, a bag of shredded lettuce, a carton of milk, and the Hersheys syrup because he wanted to make chocolate milk. We had the best picnic!!...And Jacob makes great chocolate milk all by himself!

Ever since the fourth of July, and Stars and Stripes Forever, Jacob has really liked patriotic band music. A few weeks ago, I introduced him to classical music, and now he requests it everyday in the car. We talk about if the music is happy or sad, fast or slow, what instruments are playing, etc.

Jacob was taking a potty break the other day, and came out singing, "How was I to know there was a party going on?" I was caught off guard, until he sang some more..."Splish, Splash, how was I to know there was a party going on?"

"Sometimes before I go to bed, I sing a little song to myself, like Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star."

Visited Auntie in St. Cloud today.
Jacob liked riding his bike to the park.

Jacob was cutting a straw into pieces. Then he was trying to figure out how to cut one of the pieces lengthwise. I showed him how, and he cut one by himself. When he was done, he held it up and told me it looked like a scroll, and asked if I wanted to read the scroll with him. I asked him what the scroll said, and he replied,
"It says, I love you Mommy! You make a great world Jesus!"

Prayers tonight:
"Dear Jesus, Thank you for the good stuff!"

First day of preschool!
He loved wearing his backpack, and had me buckle it in next to him, so it would be safe while we drove to preschool.

Jacob is collecting the following items for preschool.
Please save them if you can help!

  • Box tops for education from General Mills products
  • Caps from Kemps or Land O'Lakes milk jugs
  • Old cell phones
  • Empty ink cartridges from printers, copiers, and fax machines
